Waldorf micro Q keyboard internal demo songs

video upload by Vykaar Tones

"Just replaced the (laptop type) power supply in this one and thought I would upload a video as they are quite rare. Silly choice to have a laptop power supply fitted internally, external like the modules would have been more easily serviceable. At the end of the video I show the nearest equivalent power supply I was able to get that would fit nice with a little metal bending. Beware the after touch connector that will always pop off if you open one of these up... not an easy service but sounds good."

Behringer Bi-Phase pedal (newer pedals are labelled as Dual Phase)

video upload by Vykaar Tones

"First test of this pedal with a sequence from a vintage Korg MS20. The CV input to the pedal is coming from a 960 sequential controller with an 8 note sequence to control phase or gen 1 rate."

Winds of Time

video upload by Vykaar Tones

"Improvisation in the style of the much missed Klaus Schulze. I have just acquired an Elka Rhapsody 610 in lovely condition and thought I would use it in a Berlin School piece. You can clearly hear how it was used by Tangerine Dream on albums made from 1975 onwards."

Behringer System 100 with two 182 sequencers

video upload by Vykaar Tones

"Just rearranged my modules and added another 182 sequencer and 172 phaser/delay. Put the sequencers on the side so there would be less cables in the way of the pots."

Minimoog with old type oscillators playing and making sounds demo

video upload by Vykaar Tones

"The first versions of the minimoog oscillator were prone to drifting with temperature changes so were a pain to keep in tune at gigs and outdoor events. I have found however, that they can work perfectly well in a studio if calibrated correctly. This one has a serial number in the 8000 range and had multi turn pots fitted to the master tune and osciliator 2 and 3 tune probably in an attempt to make it more useable live. I have just finished servicing it. Now over 50 years since they were introduced it still sounds marvellous."

Minimoog Special Edition serial number 01 of last batch of 25 built by Moog Music.

video upload by Vykaar Tones

"Testing and making sounds on the Special Edition serial number 01 of the final 25 minimoogs made by Moog Music which belonged to the late, great and much missed Jon Lord of Deep Purple. This one has the later more stable oscillators and has a scalable CV out jack which adds mod wheel CV to the pitch CV so you can play another synth from the minimoog."

Ratcheting Berlin school sequences using Doepfer A-155 and 4ms Rotating clock multiplier

video upload by Vykaar Tones

"Yet another way to get nice random ratchets using the lower row of the A-155 sequencer in random mode to send control voltages to the rotate input of the 4ms RCM. This combo is just providing the random triggers for the pitch sequence coming from a 960 sequencer model 55 system through a 914 fixed filter bank."

904A low pass 904B high pass and Fitzgreyve 904C filter coupler for band reject and bandpass modes.

video upload by Vykaar Tones

"Just finished making this module from Fitzgreyve Synthesis and thought others might like to hear what it does. I am modulating it from a 921 vco and feeding it two sawtooth waves from two other 921 vcos. At the end I input filtered pink noise from a 923 module."

Doepfer A-126-2 Frequency Shifter and Trautonium

video upload by Vykaar Tones

"First try out of the new A-126-2 Frequency Shifter on the output of my ribbon controlled Trautonium. Signal route in to A-138n mixer is A-111 VCO2 sine output, A110 sawtooth, A110 square wave to A-163 VDIV frequency divider and A-118 white noise. Output of A-138n goes to A-104 Trautonium Formant Filter and from that to A-131 VCA controlled by pressure CV from A-198 Trautonium Ribbon Controller. The A-126-2 audio in comes from the VCA and the output goes to mixer with reverb and delays. Random CV from A-118 is occasionally added to control the pitch of the A126-2 oscillator."

Roland SH1000 Synthesizer with Kenton CV, Gate and Vcf CV inputs.

video upload by Vykaar Tones

"The great sounding SH1000 from 1973 being sequenced from a 960 sequencer going through presets and creating sounds. The gate in is ratcheted by a Doepfer a-160-5 as per usual as per vykaartones. The SH1000 is for sale as I don't have room to use it much if anyone is interested."

OB6 synthesizer repair and demo

video upload by Vykaar Tones

"I just got myself the sonically wonderful DSI/Tom Oberheim OB6 synthesizer.
Unfortunately there was a slight thump on voice 4 when listened to at high volume with no vcos or noise turned up. This was easily rectified by replacing the voice card with one supplied by Dave Smith - just like popping a ram simm into a PC. Just press calibration buttons two times and job done."

Interesting look at the voice boards.

Ausfahrt

video by Vykaar Tones

"Improvisation using SH101, Arp Odyssey Mk3, Prophet 5 desktop, Mutant drums, Blofeld, String machines and various euro rack modules. Video recorded 10 minutes after performance just to show the setup used."

Prophet~5 re-joins the crew in its new compact and more reliable revision 4 desktop format.

video by Vykaar Tones

"My very first experiments with integrating the Prophet 5 desktop with my other equipment. There are many other better demonstrations of the Prophet 5 on its own elsewhere. RS09 is above the P5 and ARP Odyssey is top left. Elektor formant is played from the left Keystep 37 and Blofeld keyboard is below that. The nord electro 6 is out of view at the bottom of the stand."
